NLA Digital Licenses

It has come to our attention that there may be some confusion about exactly what is allowed under the terms of the NLA’s various Digital Licenses.

For the avoidance of doubt:

  • There is no difference in the usage rights between any of the NLA’s digital licenses. The only difference between Option1 and Option 2 relates to how they pay the NLA for the content they receive, not what they can do with it.
  • No non-PCA organisation is allowed to hold any digital copies of News International content under any circumstances.
  • Digital licensees are allowed to store a scanned copy of non-NI content on their internal intranet for a period of 7 days as long as
    • the client accesses the PDF via a link provided by their PCA(S);
    • the client prints the document locally (i.e. in their office);
    • the client scans the document themselves; and
    • the client posts it to their intranet.

PCAs are not allowed to manage this process on behalf of their clients.

I hope this helps clear up any questions that may come up. If you would like to discuss any of this further, please feel free to contact your Account Manager.

Happy Christmas

All

Thank you for your support this year. It’s been a big year for NLA, with eClips now live at all major media monitoring companies, and many thousands of users getting their cuttings from NLA every morning. Its been a big change for all of us and t’s taken a lot of work from everyone involved;- our staff, suppliers, and most of all our clients. We appreciate your custom and will work hard to help you capitalise on your investment.

We hope 2008 will be a year where we can all profit from the opportunities we now have to build the business relationship and range of services you can offer your clients.

Happy Christmas

Andrew Hughes

more content = more yield

To help you get the best out of the supplemental coverage you subscribe to, we will be increasing our coverage of the regional titles to include all of the content being received from them that is currently being discarded.

Most regional titles have a combination of region and time later editions, so a mixed approach has been taken regarding the processing of these to reflect the nature of the various editions.

The new region and time edition combination for the titles that will have their coverage increased will be the following (includes current + new content):

Format is:
